Story of their life and planning of startup

 

Both the founders first started their own business after pursuing Engineering. Prabhkiran Singh started lassi venture known as khadke gLassi outside his college and Siddharth Munot worked with an educational startup. Both of them did not get quite a good response and thus decided to start their own website.

In 2010, Prabhkiran Singh and Siddharth Munot planned to start a website of casual clothing products. While they were searching for a perfect domain name, they decided to take up humorous name and it was the month of April and April’s fool day was near. So, after trying many domain names, they finalize the domain of the website as bewakoof.com where they trade in printed t-shirts.

The domain was registered in the year 2010 but they started their work in 2011 and launched the website in 2012. They researched about the ongoing trend in casual clothing and started to print humorous quotes on the t-shirt likely “Jo humse jale thoda side se chale”,” Dream Dare Achieve”,which grabbed great attention of the students in a very less time, they also got great response from the youth.

MARKETING STRATEGY

To promote their products, they used two major platforms known as Justdial and Facebook. They got great response and within a few months, their Facebook page got 75 thousand plususers and followers.

The company also organized various campaigns in different colleges where students deliberately promotedbewakoof products and for this, they have been rewarded with free tees from the company.

The company also collaborated with various other E-commerce websites like Snapdeal, Amazon and India times shopping. On the other hand, company offers return product policy and also provides Cash-On-Delivery for their products. It satisfies the customers to take advantage of checking the product before accepting it.

The strength or Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of the company is the trendy quotes on their t-shirts and on different products.

On Facebook, they collaborated with one more page known as “2 Min Aaya Yaar Raste Mei hoon” to drive traffic on their official website along with their own page. These pages keep the visitors occupied with the memes to promote the official website of the company.

They have also developed an app with the name Bewakoof, where they launch new products mostly everyday at 3PM. Newly launched product are offered at discounted prices. The customer also get an extra  incentive of 10% cashback in their bewakoof wallet after a purchase.
